Well, you're going to blow your PR with a banner and breadcrumb trail pointing to

http://www.index-it.net/ index.html

in the categories. Google sees

http://www.index-it.net/

and

http://www.index-it.net/ index.html

As 2 seperate pages and will treat as such.

This is an incorrect statement. The index.html file is the same as the .net or .com file which is why the page rank and google backlinks are the same for both pages.
