Get me on the first page

What would it cost to get a site to the first page of G for a 'relatively' uncompetitive search term?

2 words in the search term - results in G are approximatley 400 000.

Site has been registered for about a year and is already indexed.

What can you do? How much would this cost?

Now before the 'SEO Hierarchy' get on their high horse. I know this is not a lot of info. I can PM more details. I am looking for estimates or firm quotes when people know a little more.

 

And one more thing... No i will not just hand over money on 'trust'. Any payments would be staggered depending on results and work done.
