    A lot of sites lost their PR10 status in the last update. From what I can see it's just Google (and its various products) and The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) that have PR10. I doubt these free links are going to be coming from them anytime soon!!!

    The backlink he is talking about is from google profiles. They allow you to add your website to your profile. I doubt this will improve rankings for google, otherwise they would have loads of spam.
