what's the point of getting followers if they are all in it to promote themselves? I prefer to build followers the slow and natural way...leads to a better group.

 

twitter is a great tool... you can link everything from social sites to squidoo to article sites. Its really best to manually build your followers.

 

That's a good point, but twitter followers could be like RSS readers. It doesn't matter how many followers you get.

Also if you have a lot of followers, you'll get even more followers... like "Wow 2,000 people are following this guy"

Sign up for the group above, it has about 6-7 members now, and I'm promoting it a bunch. Also I will def. follow you, and add you for a FB friend.

You just gotta figure out 2,000 idiots who have their auto-add thing enabled and you're set.

yeah i have to agree that there is no point to just having 2000 followers unless you mean something to them

 

Not true, your tweets still show up on their pages. You know what, I just only started my new account yesterday, and I got 55 out of the 100 people I added at first looking at my blog from it.

here is the problem. If doesn't make any sense if you are gonna use it as RSS. It's cheaper and more effective to submit your RSS to the appropriate directories. But if you want to get loyal blog readers or visitors that will become paying customers then you don't want to add strangers to your Twitter.

 

Yes the best ideas are derivatives of previous good ideas. The chair from the stool.

Why would strangers on your twitter be a problem? It's a one-way communication system right?

You can still interact with people on Twitter if you have a lot of followers... just like people with huge email lists...

has anybody been marketing successfully on twitter yet ? Looking forward to increase my followers, this is a great method but there are some more advanced tricks to gain more followers.

 

I don't know how to earn traffic from twitter much. My favorite Social Network are Digg and StumbleUpon.
