Hi Guys, I was hoping that someone can help me with this because it’s driving me nuts. I’m translating a webpage for a client of mine. I’m using CS3 and the first that I did was a php file and everything went fine. Now they want a revision of this web page and it’s an html file. Now all of a sudden the “special†characteristics like ü don’t show as they should. It’s the German language and these symbols show quite frequently? I have tried all sorts of things but I can’t seem to get it right. Can someone help me out with this, it would be highly appreciated. EDIT PS. I forgot to mention that in CS3 the symbols look fine, the get mixed up when I preview the file or upload the files to my server.
What charset encoding is used when saved? Where's the link to the page? We can only guess at possible fixes without being able to see the actual document, and its server headers. //edit: I forgot to mention that it doesn't matter what it looks like in CS3. I couldn't help myself. cheers, gary
I copied the plain text into Dreamweaver, I was just working on replacing the plain text symbols with html code and now it works. Sorry, I'm having one of those days.... Thanks though, appreciate your assistance.
