    Hello there.

Is it possible to make a German Speaking Sub-Forum on the "Sell, Buy, Trade" Section on this Board?

I think that many German speaking people will come to this board.

    Thanks

Ich mag die idee......sub forums in different languages is not a bad idea but.....how would the mods/admin. monitor these? I am presuming of course that most of them only speak English.

It is not the year 1995 anymore, there are many websites dedicated to non-english webmasters, so it makes no sense to create *any* language-specific subforums here on DP.

Yeah, there's pretty much no need for a German sub forum.... Haven't encountered many German speakers around DP, so it would be pretty deserted, if one would be created.

I know there are a lot of German spammers who join forums to spam or cause other damage. Again, the owner of DP would have to find trust worthy moderators to moderate this section. Then what if other people want there native language sub-forum's? The list goes on and on.

Knowing English helps out any webmaster get more business as this is the primary language used online in forum's. Go join a German webmaster forum if you want to post in your native language. I'm sure they have these out there.

And I was thinking the same.
I would like DP to create Sub Forum for Indonesian (not in BST - I write it here not to hijack thread).
I was thinking many People from Indonesia could Join DP. However, while I was seeking for country-mate in DP, I see lots of them only come here to do some 'weird things'.
I feel lonely here. I'm glad there are so many great person welcome me here.

Judging from the fact, I didn't want Sub Forum for Indonesia. Asking for it will make the other doing the same request. However, I still have a dream to see and interact with people from the same country.
It make me wish for the two things:
    1. I wish DP has an interface in Indonesia.
    2. DP has sub forum about Education - Worldwide (Global) and Local.
    I'll explain it below:
    1. Interface in Indonesia.
I know it wasn't easy process but I'm willing to help in the process. I have a background translating web services from English to Indonesian. I remember helping HiStats and some foreigner small business by translating their web interface into Indonesian.
I could work with .pot for application or direct lang files for both PHP/Html. Usually I did the job within a week for heavier text (not only GUI but also Help files). Translating DP would require much times but it isn't impossible. The harder part would be translating rules and guidelines. Every rules (including in each threads) has to be translated, no exception.
    2. Sub Forum about Education is good idea. It could be used by student and teacher worldwide to share their experiences.
I know it maybe not good idea. Why? Because:
      - There are already some forum about education
      - DP is just like a general worldwide forum which is famous for business related activity. Adding another sub forum require more moderator to handle it.
Maybe it just me dreaming too much.:)

Ah, mais d'avoir un sous-forum en Francais! Wow would I *ever* enjoy writing in my native language! English is a head language, but with French you can speak from the heart. So much more expressive. Doubt that DP is going to want to open up a can of worms like sub-forums in other languages. What a colossal headache that would be to moderate! But then again....if it could be done, just imagine how this site would grow.

    Wow.. So many response.

First.. I now no german spammers.
On my boards are only spammers from russia or the USA.

    But enough off topic.

I think a subforum in other languages is not so much more work. You need maybe an mod for the subforum and thats It.

I dont know only one german speaking Forum where i can trade License.

I think you havent seen many german speaking People on DB because the are speaking english here.

No need for opening German- Sub forum because it is not needed.. Better to open Indian sub forum, cause I think that most of members on forum are from India..

It's not that hard to start a forum so if there is a niche out there that isn't being filled why give away the idea to Shawn (sorry, mate) when you can start it yourself?

As for it being a single subforum - it wouldn't be long before the entire structure would need to be replicated - especially in BST where Shawn has put safeguards in place to protect the members.
Lots of those will be accessing via proxy sites or vpn and won't necessarily be in the USA.

Hmmm, that could explain why some of these members with American sounding usernames, can't write proper English.;)
