Is there anyway to set geo targeting at the ad level? Basically I have a campaign now with about 50 ad groups, each group has about 2,000 keywords in it. This is targeting for US only, but I want to add in another country, however I need a different URL for this country. Is there anyway to do this and manage the one grouping of keywords?
no just duplicate campaign 1 to campaign 2 and set the geo targeting on campaign 2 with the other country you wanted to target.
But then I have to manage/delete keywords from both campaigns... and if I spread to 15+ countries, we're talking a nightmare
thats what optimization is all about. You have to remember, bidding may be completely and totally different for each country and you want to take advantage of every opportunity to have complete control over every aspect of your campaign
also to add, I have optimized some clients campaigns for each time zone. We have learned that for some markets new york is willing to pay more or less than los angeles. so why bid $2 for the lots when you could be bidding $0.50
Won't google make your bid a penny more than the advertiser below you, until you are #1? So you shouldn't be paying any more than you have too.... right?
yes but lets assume you don't want to always over pay. Lets say you find out that position 3 is your most profitable position that provides both volume and income. If you bid $2 in the USA you will always remain #1 in all other countries when you could probably be paying 50% or more less. Why over pay when you can save yourself hundreds if not thousands of dollars. Every penny saved is a penny earned when it comes to internet marketing.
Yeah, good point. I think my account keyword limit is 200k though, which I'm already getting close to... Is google pretty good about upping it? to several million?
you have a 15k monthly budget / 185k yearly budget? you should consider outsourcing for effeciency with these types of Q's. I can see you losing a lot of cash
I've thought about that, but I'd really like to learn this as well... I figure I'll do tests in blocks of $200... and see how it goes...
