George W. Bush's approval rating has been steadily rising since Obama took office. As of today it has risen to 49%, while Obama's approval rating is dropping at 48%.

Bush did not just keep us safe, he created an entire anti-terror infrastructure, which Obama is now using to monitor the activities of innocent Americans, without warrants.

Barack Obama is well on his way to being remembered as the worst president in U.S. history.

Question: if it turns out that Obama used NSA resources to monitor the Romney campaign in 2012, is this impeachable?

I am not an Obama fan by any stretch of imagination, but you can thank George for creating the current NSA situation. It is the Patriot Act that allows the government to collect these records. I will also credit George for the TSA and Homeland Security, both of which have proven to be overreaching government agencies that have more than their fair share of scandals.

George Bush is honestly no better than Obama. He is a big spender and big government guy. He entrenched us into the middle east in a never ending war that will eventually be a complete waste when we fully withdraw.

Was the economy better under Bush? Were gas prices less? Yes on both. But no conservative can argue for Bush when he is guilty of the same things we hate about Obama.

To ask to choose between Bush and Obama is the same as asking which one of these guys is smarter?

When Bush's popularity plummeted to the low 30s, those weren't Democrats giving up on him. They hated him already. Those were Conservatives jumping ship.

I think most people were willing to cautiously give the Patriot Act a few years to root out the lunatics that were clearly seeking to cause havoc. As the wars wore on, the government expanded it's overreach, the investigations for WMD in Iraq came up empty, the economy tanked, and Bush concluded we needed to bail out Wall St, people lost patience, even the party faithful. Intentionally,or unintentionally, Bush did more damage to the Republican brand and the reputation of the US than any predecessor I can remember.

Still, better is a very subjective term. I never felt that Bush was a dishonest broker. His government may not have been transparent, but he didn't pardon Scooter Libby. For better or for worse, he was able to negotiate compromise, even as a lame duck after losing both houses of Congress. He didn't spend his presidency demonizing the other side, but rather sought to build coalitions for his big government ideas, which worked as well as selling liquor, guns, and lottery tickets in the ghetto.

Obama has a terrific ability to connect with people on the campaign trail, but he has no idea how to lead, and his ideas make Bush seem like a genius. Worse, his investigation and prosecution of "leakers" has exceeded those of every president before him, and the unholy alliance between his administration and the Media has quite literally destroyed the meaning of truth in this country. Obama runs the most corrupt government I've been alive to witness. At least with Carter, you could call him incompetent and leave it at that. Corruption is the only thing Obama is good at.

    You are forgetting that
    1) Obama campaigned AGAINST the monitoring of Americans,
    2) Obama vowed to overturn the Patriot Act (but he ENTHUSIASTICALLY signed it - twice) and
    3) Democrats constantly denounced Bush for the Patriot Act while vowing never, ever to monitor private citizens.

Obama spent more in this first three years than Bush did his full eight years. Obama's lowest spending year is higher than Bush's highest spending year.

And therein is the difference. Conservatives expect and demand their candidates to uphold certain principles.

Meanwhile, despite the fact that Obama is shitting all over the liberal principles he pretended to campaign for, Liberals will still say he's doing a good job. Because to them it's not about principles, it's about rooting for your team/party.

    You are forgetting that:

1.) Obama will say / do anything to please a crowd, or add 1 person to his supporting base.
2.) Obama means nothing he says.
3.) A set of standards don't exist for Obama.

GRPaul: If you are trying to advertise the fact that you can't tell the difference between a city and an industry you have just done a great job of reminding everyone how little you know and understand.

Congrats. Many readers here already realize that you can't figure out too many things. Thanks for reminding us of that fact.

Earl, Earl, Earl. . Once again, the blinders are cutting off circulation to your brain.

He was referring to his cash infusion into the city, in an effort to "save the city" - which he FAILED AT. You, give him a pass (no surprise)!!!

But, yeah, he was talking about the "industry" but said "city". I am sure in your mind he's done an amazing job and done everything to help the "city" succeed.

Thank you for reminding everyone just how delusional Democrats have become. . . I am sure that Obama appreciates your service and commitment to supporting him no matter what.

You still can't figure out the difference between a city and an industry. That is a shame.

It could well be you just gave us the reason why out of the blue without any discussion or large scale public debate the tea party driven House of Representatives just pushed through, without any forewarning or large public debate, legislation to get rid of previously developed Republican legislation for education described as "no child left behind".

Are you in one of their "muslim brotherhood" mind control camps? Did you show evidence that you can't tell the difference between a city and an industry? Did your cult leaders/teachers come to realize you got "left behind" and education just didn't work in your case?

i'm trying to be helpful and generous here. Do you know what geography is? Do you know what economics is?

Possibly the leaders of your cult gave up on you. Don't fret. There is remedial education available.
