    Hi All

I have a UK site but its a .com domain name, only 18% of my traffic comes from the UK

Does any know any ways of improving this, or any tags that tell search engines that this is a UK focussed site ?

    Thanks Marx

yes, it's not just about having the correct country TLD.

    other things matter. namely:

you should be hosted in the country you're targetting.

beyond that, you should get links from other sites from that country, if possible.

as disgust already posted, you need to move the domain name to the "local" provider, in your case UK...

    Marx,

    there is a country tag:<meta content="gb" name="country">

But without a doubt, with a dot.com TLD you do need to be hosted in UK.

Add the word "UK" to your title, URL and headings, as well as the meta tag mentioned by dburdon (though I think that the name should be "geo.content"). Moving to a UK based IP adddress would likely help the most (but you can keep your domain name).

Also submit your site to UK specific directories.

    Cryo.
