Is there any way to implement the great geo Visitors tool into my forums, like it is done here, I mean outside the digitalpoint.com site? So can I buy the tool for my forums? I would have no problems to give digitalpoints credits, just wanna get it out of the digitalpoint.com site. Possible at all?

Yeah, that's just what I'm using for my forums. But I want to get the map out of the dogitalpoint.com frame, and put it on my own website.

See ip2location.com for a $49 database. Google maps usage is free. There are plenty of tutorials on how to get data on the map.

hehe, no thanks. I'm not really a good programmer, so just I'll stick with the tool at it is. But it may be noted that I guess it would be pretty good revenue source for digitalpoint.com to provide an unbranded version of Geo Visitors.

You can probably get it all done on Get a Freelancer for $80.

    Relative to what? :)

It's not really practical, because it requires a commercial geotargetting database license (~2M records) and costs about $500 just for the database license. So someone would have to be willing to shell out $500 just for the database to make it work (without any of that going to me).

Okay, I understand, nevermind than. Although I remember that there is one vendor which is offering some free Lite version of their IP database.

You seem to have a good taste for music BTW, looking at your "Listening To" tag...:)

It's possible to do it with the freebie ones, although they aren't as accurate. The free geotargetting databases that I've run across only tell you the country. It does not tell you anything more specific than that. So it would be a pretty dull looking map to have 100+ pins all on the center of the US for example. :)
