Geo Visitors: But I'm not located in Orlando!

Why is the Geo Visitors map saying I'm in Orlando? The green marker is pointed on Orlando, Florida but I live in Los Angeles, California. Does anyone know why this is? I'm coming to the map from different Geo Visitors links from different MySpace pages.

Basically I think they track your IP address, do whois and then pick the location from there. I would guess that if you do whois to your information, the record says Orlando.

I did have my own stat tracker few years ago and I studied geolocation quite much - this is almost the only way to do it (except some really bizarre ways like ping triangulation)

probably the IP numbers from ISP are registered by someone from california, or you are using a tunnel to connect to the internet, probably set by your ISP.

Probably has something to do with it... hopefully they will update their IP address allocations accordingly soon.
