    Hi,

I have an Australian directory with PR5.

    My question is:
    - will having links from other Australian sites boost the SEP of my directory from a local Google search?
    - or, it doesn't matter so long as the links from other sites are of a good quality?

In other words, will my site rank higher in google.com.au if I had links from:
    - xyz.com.au and abc.com.au (both hosted locally); OR
    - rst.com and lmn.com (both hosted in the US)
(if all four sites have the same PR)

    Thanks!

The more relevant the links the better. I have a feeling that the .au sites would look more relevant to search engines, all else being equal, especially if your site is an Australian directory.
