geo-regional ads

i know this has been briefly discussed in the past and since the questions i ask are really not answerable by publishers, i guess i am writing this for the ypn reps that come here.

Geo-Regional Ads appear to be coming more and more on my sites.

what i mean is that in a 336x280 (4 ads), 3 of my ads are highly targetted and 1 ad is targetted to my actual location (completely untargetted to my content). for example, Find Singles in "Enter State Name". im finding this to be more and more annoying with each day.

in our current world of terminations due to low conversions, it bothers me that ypn itself is putting totally unrelated ads on my site, when i know there are more targetted advertises to fill in that ad spot, that my page is targetting properly to my content and my ctr is healthy enough to say my visitors "utilize" the ads that appear. i dont use ad targetting, so i am completely contextual.

i have tried blocking a particular regional advertiser, but that only solves the problem for visitors with IP's in my area. what about in other cities / states. who knows what they are seeing in that ad block.

another issue is with the unique ad blocks. since ypn made the change so that ad units do not repeat advertisers, i am finding that my first ad block is highly targetted (with 1 georegional ad) and maybe a portion of my 2nd ad block is highly targetted. but, again, the rest of the ads are being filled in with complete and totally unrelated ads. it seems that ypn is just "filling" in the space. how are they determining what ads to show here? they are not RON ads. they are not contextually targetted. i would think that Advertiser X would NOT like it very much if they knew their ads were being forced to show on a site that had nothing to do with the kw's that they are paying for. i understand that perhaps there are no more contextually targettable advertisers to fill in these ad slots. but again, in our world of terminations due to conversions, this just seems wrong (not that terminating a publisher based on conversions is right in any way whatsoever) and its almost like ypn is setting us up for failure.

my only thought for a solution here is to further reduce the amount of ad units on my pages. i have already reduced from 3 to 2 and now i am thinking to go down to 1. the last thing i want is unrelated ads on my pages. not good for my site, not good for my visitors, not good for ypn. and having such completely unrelated ads reduces the "quality" of my site, which in turn will either mean that i have to stop using ypn on a particular site / page or find a better solution to keep my quality levels as high as possible.

my sites are made for my visitors, not for ypn. that is something that ypn should remember. without the publishers, there is no ypn.

I've seen that too, but I don't mind as long as people are clicking them. :)
