Hello, If I use word tracker to throw up 10 keywords is it possible to gather data using Google's Adwords as to how many times these are searched without blowing alot of money. I'm in a very competitive field and I'd rather not spend a huge budget on doing the keyword research as the client might not feel it's justified. Is there anyway that I can keep the campaign budget down and get accurate impression stats for the keywords from adwords? so that I can target these in the generic listings. thanks, DPGBB
Also look at Adwords' keyword tool, which has volume and pricing stats. These stats are often otoriously off-mark, but it can give you a ballpark figure.
Here's an example - Google Adwords Tool predicts that the keyword might/would cost £3. I was thinking that it might be possible to bid .20 and have a daily budget of £1 and be able to find out how many times a keyword is searched that day. Would this work? In effect it I would be using Google Adwords as a research tool. Secondly I have an idea that it probably wouldn't but could I get away with having a daily budget of £3 or £6 and be able to find out how many times a keyword is searched that day? thanks for your help. DP
Not sure that I'd trust Google's Adwords tool very much. Not sure what's it's like in the USA (or anywhere else for that matter), but I was doing some keyword research recently, and it forecasted 1 click per day at £1 per click, when I had the same keyword in another campaign delivering 36 clicks per day at £0.20 each. If you want to know the sort of traffic volumes cheaply, then bid a low amount (somewhere near the minimum bid) and see how many impressions you get. From this, you can get a more accurate idea of how many clicks you can get. Alternatively, discuss a trial one-month (?) contract with the client, to see what sort of results they can expect, and work to whatever budget they are happy with.
