Generating clicks from removed ads?

    Google Adwords noob here.
I have uploaded tow ads to a single ad group and campaign. I made some edits to the ads and keywords after submission but by the time I had completed these changes there were no impressions or clicks. However, at the end of Day 1 I checked my stats and the most impressions and clicks (which I paid for) have come from "Removed Ads" (see image) [IMG]
How is this possible and how do I stop clicks being generated by removed ads?
    Cheers,
    Art.

Removed ads are "old" ads. Or ads that you changed. And before you got clicks on them.
Take care about period you check for performance.
    Kind regards.

In fact you are not changing the ad. Technically your old ad is removed and the new one is created with no stats. All stats after the change will be in your old removed ad.

Removed ads can be of two types:
    1. Ads that were deleted before they were made live, and no stats are collected.
    2. Before we edit a live ad, there might be some stats (impression, clicks, etc) already collected for it. If we decide to make changes to the already running live ad, the stats for the ad before the changes were made need to be stored as a different identity than the updated ad. Thus, the edited ad is placed as the live ad, while the previously unedited live ad with the stats is stored as a removed ad.
