Heavey21, are you selling something? ppc is a good start if you have a shopping cart. Btw, organic traffic from search engines is the best. Put more weight on link building and you will get targeted traffic soon. Video marketing on youtube is good in term of branding and blog commenting is good in term of level of awareness and traffic. first concentrate on page seo such as: Heading tags h1-h6, title or meta tags, alt tags. * high pr dir submission, se marketing * social bookmarking . stumbleupon , digg * social networking . orkut * write articles * blog commenting * forum signatures * email marketing * Link exchange with relevant niche sites. * Yahoo answers. * Video marketing , youtube.com * releasing a free theme or any freebies. Last but not least, se and social bookmarking will drive higher traffic. (Its all game of unique contents) Hope it will be help.

Create a profile in all Web 2.0 sites. Get active in those sites you've joined. When friends in your network like your site, they will spread the word about your site. Just be patient. This is hard work though.
blog commenting can help if you are going to make killer comments on killer blogs. Otherwise, it's just link building for the sake of link building.
Try getting a slot as a media comentator on TV/ radio. I often see people on breakfast TV talking about what they think of this topic and that topic and they always seem to plug their website on prime time telly and I don't think this will cost.
Use social bookmarking networks, CPM networks (See my signature for info) and advertise on Radio and TV stations. A Media Blitz may sound expensive, but if you look around and seperate the expesnive low-yeilding networks from the ones that produce results, then it's only a matter of time before visitors start swarming to your site.

How many daily visitors do YOU have? Okay, then, shut the hell up. Stop acting like a stupid parrot repeating stuff you heard, and, hearing it from another parrot. Are you making enough money from this site to afford ppc at this stage or you're just wasting your money? What is the main reason you want the traffice? Sales, clicks, leads? Set a goal and follow the goal. Saying, I want 5000 visitors a day, is not good enough. Answer the question "why" and you'll be a big step closer to what you want to achieve. I agree. You could write really good articles and then use them for article marketing. Make sure that the article that you write are unique and informative. Quality goes a long way.
