Hi all. Most of what I have learned has been trial and error with plenty of error. I always thought that when setting up a database I would have to have the main site. For example mainsite.com then forward my other domains to that one like mainsite.co.uk mainsite.net etc. Last night I discovered that if on my hosting account I set up all the extensions with separate accounts, upload the files to them and use the same passwords as the database it will work. So all the .com .net and .co.uk feed (for want of a better word) of the database uploaded to the .com account. Is this the correct way to do things? Or is there another way? Thanks James
well, if all your domain are hosted on the same hosting account, a single database might work or it might not. some scripts stores configuration such as "domain name" or "script placement" on the database hence it might create error if you set up the database for www.mydomain.com and pull it up from www.mydomain.net but the general idea is correct. a database can be pull out to different domain on one hosting account as long as the host permit.
