Is there anything to note for domain? Like my hosting is from company A , and i buy domain from company B, and i point the domain to company A hosting. When i search the domain in whois lookup, what information will be reflected? like from company A or company B? Is there any more other thing i have to note? like domain privacy ,etc? 3rd. Usually i only create sitemap and also submit my site to search engine. After which i use google analytics to see my website traffic. Is there anymore thing seo consist of that i miss out? kindly enlighten me. I think that about it. Looking forward to learn new things. Thank you.
Hi oldgreat, 1. If you are hosting only website and not any other real-time action application (e.g game server), hosting in US would not make too much differences. In fact, in some scenario, it is a great way to save some money or getting more bang for the buck. Web Hosting in Singapore is generally more expensive because of differences in hardware prices and bandwidth. 2. No, feel free to use registrar like namecheap.com, enom.com and others out there that you like, it won't make any difference techinal-wise. Just make sure that the provider is reliable enough to be trusted with your domain. 3. There are plenty of ways to do that, from domain parking (if you have high search value keywords), domain flipping, or use them to develop a high value website and sell it afterwards (or don't, use it to generate some recurring revenue for yourself) 4. SEO consists of on-page (by optimizing HTML, CSS etc) and off-page (e.g by generating high quality backlink to your website) optimization to get your website better SERP (Search Engine Ranking Position).
Hello. $16/month for hosting and $25/year for a domain, is really expensive. So, it is better if you go with Hostgator or Bleuhost, and use Namecheap for your domains. And for the SEO, you can check SEOmoz: http://www.seomoz.org/beginners-guide-to-seo
