    I realise this is very general but how disadvantaged are country extensions in terms of general value?

    I'd like opinions on whethar dictionary, singular keyword itself for com.au, net.nz are better buys when available then longtailed phrase type keywords in TLD's?

    Also what about common phrases/cliches are they generally of value?

    this question should be asked in 'Domain Names' and not the Appraisals sub-folder.. you'd get more responses posting in the proper area.
    for the country TLD's... they're worth a lot less than a .com... they actually stand somewhere next to the .info TLD which is pretty much worthless as a few others are..

    a few junklisted TLD's;

    .ws
    .name
    .info

    ...a few strong TLD's;
    .com
    .net
    .org
    .co.uk
    ...jp

    a TLD really is only as strong as the country backing it.. unless of course the TLD is also a play on words like .me extensions and .tv's..
    for dictionary words vs. phrases.. it all depends what the word is and if you see marketing potential in it.. that goes for the phrase also... if you can find one that's brandable or trendy and you can market it then it has value.. as for the TLD's they don't matter in searches.. however, when someone wants to come back to your site they'll usually type in the .com by instinct... so, its usually a good business decision to catch the .com as well.. even if you plan on developing it with the other TLD and pointing the .com to your site.. ^_^
