    Honestly? Don't get books.

In fact, just google for WHATEVER the book CLAIMS it will teach you and you will find your answers :)

or of course, you can ask here :)

Google will be your best friend in this case as opposed to buying a lot of these ebooks. Yes some of the books are cheap, $7+ per ebook, but spending money on those ebooks will add up quickly and you will be left with a pile of ebooks that did not show you what you could have learned on your own. Read marketing forums like this one, find blogs that update at least a few times a week, there are plenty of them out there that you can learn a lot from. If you find ebooks that are free, by all means grab them. My blog is updated at least 4 times a week, yes I know shameless plug...lol

lol good books to learn Marketing from? I have yet to encounter one E-book that is worth over 5 cents.

    Marketing Is Simple
    - You need a product to sell or promote
    - You need to give people a reason as to why they need it
    - You need a plan and a goal
    - You need a site or a blog
    - You need traffic

I just saved you $50 on the next "big secret to success" e-book.

Or, go to Amazon and BN.com and see the most popualr books. Then call your local bookstore to see if they have it. If not, order it. Then read it right there to see if it is worth it.

I notice that the OP said "books", not "ebooks". Yes there are some really crappy ebooks out there, but also a few good ones. For books that cover general marketing though.

-Marketing For Dummies: (Don't laugh.:)) If you're looking for a basic, but still thorough overview of what marketing and advertising is, along with stuff like how to create a marketing plan, how to research markets, etc. This is a great starting point.

-Gettting Everything You Can Out Of All You've Got by Jay Abraham: Basically covers ways to vastly increase the amount of money you're making in your business by making little tweaks to what you're doing.

-Unleashing The Ideavirus and All Marketers Are Liars by Seth Godin: Really any of Seth's books are great, but these are my favorites so far. Ideavirus (which you can download for free online) talks about creating products that spread and get talked about. Somewhat dated, but still worth reading. Liars talks about how to build an attractive story around your product that conforms to people's worldview and keeps them coming back for more.

One thing about Seth Godin's stuff is that it's more theoretical and abstract "big picture" stuff than practical how-to stuff. That's not to say that he doesn't know what he's talking about. He does (this is one of the guys that Google goes to when they need marketing advice). But if you're looking for more nuts and bolts type stuff, you might want to do some more searching.

    Hope that helps!

I highly recommend anything by Chris Rempel.

He's the creator of the Lazy Marketer stuff. There is a ton available and out of the 15 I have probably checked out, his seem to be the best for people of all experience levels.

I'd give you a link so I'd get some affiliate commission but its good enough that I just don't care lol.

If you do buy it put "Robert sent me" somewhere and maybe he'll hook me up with something.

Try it, its good stuff and simple to do.
