Hey guys so im gonna get a new forum started and I was wondering what the best way it to maximize my revenue from the forum im a total noob when it comes to this and this will be my first official website, I just would like some helpful tips or advice thanks
First make it useful for others, so they visit regularly As it is new, so you need to market it properly
i think you really should do some research and do some sort of a business plan before just "starting a forum". Especially as this is your first site, there is a great deal of work involved in just starting the initial forum, getting threads started and some good content on the site. Your priority should be getting the forum established, a set of good threads with unique content to get it started, get a few friends, or hire people on DP to do forum posting, hire SEO experts to help get your site ranking well. Dont even think about money or advertising until the site is started and has a few members. Then bring the ads in slowly. DP is successful in advertising, copy its style of adplacements (not all at once) Seriously write up a business plan. If you fail to do SEO, then you wont have traffic = 0 income. Seriously, without SEO, it doesnt matter how good your site is, you WONT earn enough to pay for the domain name. Contact people on DP for quotes for SEO. most seem to charge $300 - $500 per month for 3-6 months (so $1500 - $3000) also, be sure to check out the forum section where scripts are sold - > there is always people selling VB licenses. You wanna know why? 10% probly changed to a different license, the other 90% i would say FAILED, probly wasted a year of time, did alot of work, paid for a year of hosting / domain names / and are selling their scripts for 50%. plan well, or you too could be selling your forum license for half its costs.
Do something unique and provide something good in your forum to visitors. Like some free stuff etc. Make relationship with your viewers so that they come back again.

You can surely get another account. Just change the address of your location and change your name spellings a bit and then apply.
