Hey all.. I just have a graphics question here.. I dont want to offend anyone here so this is why im throwing this question out!! How much does it cost to usually have a logo created?? I see 10 dollars and people get angry.. I see 50 dollars and people still get mad!! Let me know because very soon I need one done and like I said I dont want to offend anyone out there!!
it depends on the designer if you have a high recomended proficient designer you will offend him asking him to do a logo for 50$ because most jobs he usally is offered are at least x,xxx but if you ask here on dp most people won'te be offended if it's jsut a logo. 10 dollers is not a fair price and people offering to work at this low budget are not doing custom logos, using images form stockpages or jsut started working with photoshop.
If you outsource overseas or hire someone in high school logos can be as low as $10 but it will look like it cost $10. You may also find someone to do a logo for $50 but this is not enough for quality. If you would like to hire a professional that understands western design and will get results the price would vary from $200 upwards of a few thousand $. Like everything else in this world you get what you pay for (most of the time...of course there are rare exceptions)
As Sensei and Newviewit say, you tend get what you pay for with some occasional exceptions. From $50 an hour and 2 hours work, depending on how easy you are to please/how much you want from the logo/what use it is going to have/what formats you need it delivered in, is a good starting point. Best advice is to throw some ideas at your shortlist of logo designers and see who can sketch you some ideas on paper first, scan them and fire them back to you whilst you browse their portfolio of previous work. That way you'll get an idea for how much they understand the creative process and if they have any off-line skills to back up their electronic logo design skills. Best of luck.
You get what you pay for. Most 5$-10$ logos I've seen on DP have some form of Clip-art and bad typography attached to it. That's not to say there are no skilled designers here, but do expect to pay more for a quality service.
If you are serious about branding your product, don't be afraid to spend a little money on a good logo design...a good logo can make a huge difference. Also, you should feel good paying a fair price for quality work, and supporting graphic artists that produce quality work. That being said, I would suggest you simply decide what is the most you can afford to spend, and go from there.
You Generally get what you pay for when it comes to logo designs. make sure you get some third party opinions on the designer and anything around 50 dollars should get you something of a high standard.
$200 a logo is very cheap for a proper professional For a GOOD logo, you're looking at 10 hours work minimum, with this sort of breakdown 1st-3rd hours - On the phone or face to face meeting with the client talking to them, learning about them and their business and what they want from a logo 4th-8th hours - Analysing the competition, generating ideas, getting feedback from client and the target audience/market 9th-10th hours - Finalising ideas and concepts and producing the finished product
