Let's say I have a domain from InvisionFree ( http://s8.invisionfree.com/mydomain ). Now, I want to change the domain with a subdomain ( http://www.mydomain.co.uk ). My question is, does subdomain's redirect the default domain to the new domain, or does top-level domains only do this?

    Example:

    Click http://s8.invisionfree.com/mydomain redirect to http://www.mydomain.co.uk

Does anyone know the answer to my question? Sorry for bumping, but it's just a curiosity of mine that I would like to know. In all, the question is - will a subdomain direct to a new domain? As the InvisionFree example states above.

Do they even have such an option from you to configure the website? I remember some free forum have option for you to have your own TLD domain. So it depends on your free forum hoster. However I could be wrong.

You can create an index.html file in the old one and put a meta tag to redirect it to the new site
