Hi, I haven't changed anything and the same ads are still showing up that I'm seeing for the last few days, yet general CTR of the site has dropped about 65%. Now with 100 visitors a day this could be a glitch, but I get about 6,000 a day. This is the worst day I ever had. How can I drop 65% on the complete site when I didn't change anything and still the same ads are showing up? No, I AM 100% sure I didn't change anything for quite a while.
Exactly the same here. For me and others. Check this out: http://www.webmasterworld.com/forum89/9735.htm
That article is about people who are not doing fine in October. My site is doing fine this month, better than last month, it's just this particular day that things are bad. I would like to know how I can drop 65%-70% and I'm not in the interested in the "Me too!" or "Mine is doing fine", that doesn't answer my question. I'm asuming that I'm still looking at the same ads that I normally see, so how can it drop this much? Does it mean that if one particular add (I don't know which one) doesn't show up, that I drop 70%?
There will always be shifts in earnings/clicks. Don't fret or base future plans on one day. One day is a blip - month to month is where you pick up your trends.
Ya I think there was indeed a glitch yesterday. My CPM is back up to the norm, but last month it was way down!
Any news sources on that? If it happened I wonder if it just regional or something...never noticed any problems with Adsense yesterday.
Thanks for the repies. I guess it's one of those few glitches that don't make any sense to me. Hopefully the next few days things turn back to normal, I'll keep you informed.
In your first post you said "last few days" instead of "yesterday". Sorry if I bothered you, but for me, being today October 6th, "last few days" meant "October". Sorry again.
It was not a generalized case. I think some people on DP were even complaining that ads were not showing yesterday. I just got one of those generic replies from google and they confirmed that they had "mild technical problems that were resolved as fast as possible" for some networks. They refused to give me any other information i asked and just kept it short.
Michael, if you drop us a URL, then maybe somebody can take a look. I've had instances, where javascript was causing my pages to hang up and not display fully. The CTR for those pages was 0 for awhile and made my CTR for the day look low.
