I agree that rep should be removed from the underground section, since it is abused there. However post count should not, since posts made there are still perfectly valid in my opinion.
Dang, I just tried to give mdvasanth86 rep and it won;t let me. He or she must have been the last person I gave rep to. Anyway.... I think we should remove post counts from all of the The Digital Point subforums. (edit: That's the The Digital Point section, not The Digital Point forums) I've suggested introductions before as I for one like to say hi to people and it's notied inthe faq that this leads to post count abuse if you do it too often. Reviews does seem to see a lot of padding in there. Underground and General Chat as these are actually extra subforums that aren;t really relevant to the purpose of these forums. That's just me though.
I still think that it would be a horrible Idea to Remove Post count from those sections. To tell you the Truth I don't think I have ever posted in Search Engines, Marketing or Product tool sections or even visited them even before the DB ate my account last fall.
Actually posts in introductions dont count now anyway, which is good I think, since that was heavily abused by noobs saying hi in every thread.
I don't think the Posts in the Review Section should count because half the time I go in there I see the same person leaving a similar comment on each thread 'Good Site' Or 'Good work keep it up'
Well, some people do leave good reviews. However, it is true that some do this, but they probably recieve infractions for this anyway.
Well, that type of members receive infractions for that thing ! I have seen only few of them and also seen them getting banned. - Digital -
Because people enjoy those sections. BST is not the only part of this forum which people use. Many people only join because of the vibrant community in those sections.
Why not edit the limit of least characters there? If you wanna post a review, it should be atleast 100 words... That makes it better and people will then actually go and get a good review instead of small comments
I definitely concur. People post just to increase their post count and sell signature links. We could increase the number of mods tenfold and they could still not delete all of the spammy "me too" posts.
