General Blogs? Or Niche?

Im going to start blogging in my spare time in hopes that I can someday get some revenue from it. But heres my dilema..

Not to pat myself on the back, but I'm very good at a few trades.

    Auto Body & Painting
    Web Design
    Graphic Art
    Profitable eCommerce store owner
    Accomplished Musician
    Dog Training

    and the list goes on..

I'm not sure if I should just have one blog and just write whatever I feel is useful to other people, or If I should have a bunch of separate blogs?

A few of my areas of expertise do not get new information. It basically is what it is. There will be no new earth shattering news to announce. So basically the blog for that specific niche will be dead as far as new content..

Are general blogs profitable? Is it OK to mix such random topics like that?

    Thanks for any advice..

    Mike

I say go with a niche that you know and enjoy...you will never get tired of blogging, and it offers you a better shot at retaining steady readers.

Definitely go for the niche's. It may be more work setting up multiple blogs to begin with, but once that's done, there's no real time difference between one blog or five. You're doing the same posting, just on different blogs. Keeping your blog focused on a particular niche will not only help in the search engines, but also your site visitors will appreciate not having to comb through the auto body articles to find the dog training posts.

find a niche that you enjoy and people coming to your website will KNOW is going to be written on... The diary web blogs are boring and so off the wall..

Pick one of the niches and make a website for that.. pick another niche and build a website for that.

If the niche has plenty of scope, create a separate one for it.

If not, combine it with something else.
