Guys, I have some questions about blogging as I want to start one. If I want to make money from blogging (with adsense + affiliate), do you suggest I use general blog or specific blog? I saw some blogs are general, the bloggers use their name as domain name and blogging about general topics but include affiliate link at the end of post. In my opinion (Please correct me if I'm wrong), the possibility of generating income will be bigger with general blog, because the posting will be different topics everyday than specific blog with posting of same kind of topics everyday. Any advice? Thanks
In term of money making go for general blog... Make sure there should be proper categories into it and if you've any blogpost out of the category put it in Miscellaneous section
Well hey I'm interested in making money with blogging too. I would like to take a different approach. How can I use my blogs to focus the power of my website for SEO. I hear blogging is quite powerful for posting your website link and making comments with other blogs. Is this a good way to get traffic or recognition to your website by blogging about your website essentially. Thanks for sharing.
In my opinion you need to put your blog in such segment/niche that there visitors have more purchasing power than others, in terms in money more money but in terms in competition more competition. You choose the better, I prefer competition&money
General blog is better for you just purchase a domain and hosting. increase your traffic and put ads on it. it is very beneficial for you for making money.
I would suggest pay attention to something you're professional at because more quality stuff will be added there.

Honestly, a blog about everything is a terrible idea. No one knows everything about everything, but some people know everything about something. There is bound to be something that you are very knowledgeable at, and this will show in your blog posts. Go for a blog in a niche that you know a lot about, otherwise, people will leave fairly quickly and you will not be making much money at all.
I prefer specific blog than a general blog. That is why, i always make niche targeted blog which is good for adsense and affiliate programs.
I suggest a specific blog with a general meaning but still you can add different categories to write on so you can provide regular updates as you write more and more blog post. An example for that is if your blog is all about marketing/SEO tools. You can categorize them into different internet marketing software like Tweeter Attacks, SEnukex, Xrumer etc. If it's about fashion, you can categorize it from tips, product reviews, current trends, lady's fashion, men's fashion etc. It's not a good idea to write random topics for your blog though like religion, writing, health, sports etc.
What I have learned through blogging, is that the more specific the blog is, the better it is, as people who visit will be ultra targeted. But when you choose what to blog about, you have to find something that people are looking for information on, who have money to spend.
In my opinion, For making money from blogging, you should be able to identify a niche that you are interested in and have an expertise in. I dont recommend going for general blogs as there are millions of such blogs writing aimlessly! The only option for a general blog is to make money through contextual ad forms like adsense - thats difficult unless you have good traffic: Regarding making money: Dont write for making money, if you did start with that motive - you might feel disappointed and quit blogging tired! Write for the cause - like u said, for the passion you have for Japanese - write for that and make the blog a part of your life. As traffic to your blog builds up, so will your knowledge, expertise and niche authority increase, then its easy to monetize or make money. content -> Traffic -> Money and happiness ( is the order it worked for me) and ideally it should work like this Content -> Happiness and Traffic - > Money!! Now methods to monetize: 1. Affiliate marketing (promote ebooks or products to earn commission) 2. Google Adsesne, Chitika, Adbrite (loads of contextual ad networks are there) 3. BuySellAds (only when you have enough traffic) Basically - there are thousands of methods to make money with a website with traffic - So build your website with great content and offer good value to the internet. Readers love to read niche blog. So, specific blog is preferred. hm.. in personal opinion, making money from blog is a bonus. If you are really interested in blog writing, nothing can block you and you can easily update a blog in a short period. When you have built the traffic, you can earn from there. So, ask yourselves, are you really keen on blog writing?
