General Advertising Questions

    Hey everyone,

I wasn't sure where to ask this question, and searching here wasn't really giving me any solid answers to the questions I have.

I'm relatively new to monetizing websites. I've been designing for a number of years, but only recently did I begin to use various monetizing opportunities to make a little extra money.

I run a few websites, most rank pretty well in the search engines. I am beginning to get requests for advertising on these websites, and I really have no clue as to where to begin!

I have requests for both text and banner advertising.

So first, How do you folks deal with requests for text link ads? I have researched it a little and basically figured out that any text ads should have the 'no-follow' attribute attached to them. The sites I would like to be dealing with are all related in one way or another to mine. Is the 'no-follow' something that I should definitely be using here???? Should I avoid text links all together???? Should this also be attached to any banner or article advertising as well??

Secondly, how on earth do you determine what advertising space on a given website is worth??

Thanks in advance for your responses!!

    Dave

    Hi krashok1990,

I'm using adsense as is with great success, but I'm looking for ways to monetize further now that I see what websites can generate as far a revenue goes.

Try signing up for affiliate networks, and running offers that are related to your niche. cj.com is great for physical goods, depending on the niche.

    Hi RB,

Thats something I've begun to do as well. The problem is that I am getting alot of advertising requests and I have no idea where to begin with them, but I feel like I am missing out on some great opportunities here!

I can help you determine how much advertising should go for on select areas on your website and even manage them for a small fee if your interested.. Depending on how many sites you have you can make a lot of money.

Do try to sell link to other people coz google may blacklist your site and deindex or site at google search.
The price of the link is based on the link popularity of your site and PR.

if your website traffic is somewhat good with lots of pageviewes you can try cost per 1000 impressions ads which pays you more. My favorite cpm program is adsdaq.
