Geez, should I be worried??

I can't discuss specific amounts due to Adsense TOS, but I would like your opinion about this.

I have several sites, all using Adsense. I usually get mid $xx per day.

I have just logged into my Adsense account, and although there are still 6 hours left for today's balance, I already have $xxx earnings.

I almost fainted when I saw that and thought that I was seeing wrong, but nope, there it is, $xxx

So, I checked the "show channels" option, and I can see that one of my best sites has a nice CTR, nothing to worry about, it is the normal CTR that I have always had, but the CPM is really high, so that is wat is bouncing up my total earnings.

So, to sum it up, I can't see any wrong pattern here, my CTR is normal and it seems that I was just lucky and got a day with loads of high-paying ads. Has this happened to you? I don't think I should bother emailing Adsense about this, what do you think?

No, don't report this to Google. If your click-through is the same, there is no way this is anything to worry about.

I've been waiting for that to happen to me for a long time!

Must be some hot bidding going on for whatever keywords are on your site. Do you mind saying what you think these hot keywords are?

Maybe some new research got published today or there was some other news that created a burst of interest?

Maybe it's getting close to the end of the month and some big advertisers put more money in their adwords accounts?

The entire month for me has been absolutely pitiful - worst month in a year for me. But, today - boom! back to normal - nice little day. So, maybe Fryman, something happened today - advertisers pumped up the dollars - Google changed something - or the stars aligned. Whatever, I'm breathing easy for at least one day.

Also consider the fact that there was a recent PR update. I am seeing a pattern of higher CPM with higher PR domains.

Did your $XXX domain also receive a PR increase in the recent update?

I don't think PR has anything to do with CPM. Interesting theory, though, I'll keep an eye on that.

However, all my sites got a boost in PR and I haven't seen any earnings improvement except on this one.

    Nothing to worry about Fryman.

I saw the same on the weekend. :)

The only time to worry is if the CTR goes thru the ceiling (and even then it warrants a closer look before doin anything). Having channels is also a great way to refine things.

Oh PS.. I've also seen higher PR in tandem with Higher CPM. Related ? who knows.

    Cheers,

    JL

I noticed the exact same thing. I managed to double on income which is great.

this happened to me, too. although in my case, i also saw my click-through jump 6 times.
i read in another post that sometimes, when google makes some changes to adsense, they stall the reporting and reflect everything once they're done...

I have also heard this. Sometimes clicks that are under investigation then they OK them in chunks or clusters.

That must be it. One day I had about 400 cliks. 2 days later, I received 500 clicks, and with a higher CPM. However, I earned exactly the same than with 400 clicks. I thought that was really weird.

Ah, different thing, but yes. I've seen this too... however I've only ever seen it as an adjustment made to the report prior to payout. Of course it's prolly happened progressively too and I've just not noticed it.. :)

    Cheers,
