Hi, just joined this group after a quick look around and look forward to hanging out with you folks.

I'm a software developer (don't be put off) and entrepreneur, running my own moderately successful business from the leafy streets of Glen Iris, Victoria, Australia. Oh and I love what I do. :)

I also love to travel, especially overseas and am looking forward to an extended trip away to parts of Europe later this year.

I've got a new product, which I'm sure will be of interest to some here, as you must be folks that spend time surfing the Web. :)

It is called Surfulater (cute I know) and in a nutshell lets you save anything you find while surfing the web. See: www.surfulater.com

Thanks WhatiFind. We'll be Limburg province. Don't think we'll get to Amsterdam this trip. I've been their twice before and it is indeed a great city.

Nice looking site you've got. Check out Surfulater when you get a chance.

Thanks for that and for visiting. blog.surfulater.com is fairly new and is an effort to both better get in touch with people and also to indirectly promote Surfulater and try and get some help with search engines. Surfulater pretty much doesn't exist on Google, which is not a good situation to be in.

Like your sites btw - nice work. What do you think of www.surfulater.com? We've just completed a big site makeover and I'm pleased with the results. Just need to get more folks knowing about Surfulater and visiting the site. :)

Thanks zez. I just visited http://www.thailand-huahin.com/ and you have a problem.

If you look at your site on a PC where the Windows background color
isn't white you see somewhat of a mess. This usually is because there
is no bgcolor set in the body tag or CSS. Change your Control
Panel|Display|Appearance|Window BG color to see what I mean.

If you need more info let me know.

BTW Looks like there is lots of good and interesting information on your site. Please look at www.surfulater.com and give Surfulater a try when you get a chance.

G'Day Homer. It is 7.50am here and still a bit dark outside. Should be a nice day though, around 20C I think, which is very pleasant for this time of year.

Great to hear you like surfulater.com - thanks. Do give Surfulater a try as well and let me know what you think.

Just visited http://www.createonlinebusiness.com/business_plan_index.html and you have the same problem as zez.

    Welcome Nevf,

I just over the border in Adelaide, a fellow software developer, very modestly successful. One of these days I'm hoping to go full time with it all......we can only hope,

    Hi Mark,
Thanks for the welcome. Good to meet a local dev. I've been full time for around 17 years now. Just me, working from home. I only have two products, with Surfulater just coming to market late last year. Exciting times.

I had a quick look at your site and have a couple of suggestions. The screen shot looks pretty crappy. I use BitmpaShrinker which does a pretty good of this. Google it. I'd also change the image click to a popup window, like I have at www.surfulater.com Also the current background color of the screen shot window isn't white. See my other posts here. Let me know if yoy want the JS code.

Finally I'd change the "Software Requirements" to another testimonial. The area "above the fold" is precious and must be used to maximum advantage. A book I highly recommend is "Web Copy that Sells" by Maria Veloso.

    All the best,
    Neville

Thanks for feedback on the site. I'm very pleased it got a good report.

I've submitted to pingomatic.com - thanks for that. Q. Do you need to submit to them each time you add an article to your blog or just the once?

I'll stop by your forum in a bit.

I did submit to DMOZ ages ago and nothing has ever happened. Any suggestions?

    Hi Neville,

Thanks for the input, will get cracking on the suggestions tonite when I get home from the day job. It's funny what you say about the screenshots. I've used any number of tools to resize them and no matter what I use I always get the same comment, 'gee they look crappy' :D I'll try the tool you suggested and see if it does a better job.
