The title of this thread is hilarious: "UN report condemns Israel 'brutality'"? The UN condemns Israel for any reason, including evening thunder showers.

The UN is a joke. They are a worldwide organized criminal conspiracy formed for the sole purpose of engaging in illegal parking along downtown Manhattan.

 

The overall opinion IS changing. For the better.

More and more people are starting to appreciate Israel's position. A few years back when Lebanon was attacking Israel during a cease fire you'd find all these nuts trying to support them. (Lebanon, that is.)

Now, more and more people want to see the people attacking Israel wiped out - like the thousands of Muslims parading in the streets cheering after a pregnant Israeli woman was murdered? More people want to blow them up now than ever.

Fuck the UN. They're a laughing stock.

 

Earlier on, there was the Goldstone Report, named so as it was headed by Judge Richard Goldstone from South Africa. Goldstone is a Jew, so there is no reason why the report should be "friendly" to Islam.

The reaction back then was the same as the reaction now. All the pro-Israeli fanatics are up in flames about that report as they are now about this Gaza flotilla report because both reports' conclusion are something everyone else in the world knows except for a small minority: that Israel committed a war crime when it attacked Gaza last year and they committed a war crime again when attacking the Gaza flotilla mission.

 

To commit a war crime a state must be in open armed conflict against another state , read the international treaties Menj . Palestine isn't even a recognized state .

 

And where did you get that definition from? Read up more on Fourth Geneva Convention and don't make up definitions out of thin air.

Well duh. Who ever heard of using equal force in a war you actually want to win? Maybe our US generals should consult this guy on how to run Afghanistan. After all, it is estimated there are less than 400 Al Queda there, and we have about 100,000 troops in the area. Sounds like we need to remove 99,600 of those troops, along with practically all of our hi-tech military gadgets, or we may be guilty of the war crime of responding with disproportionate force.

Used Palestinians as human shields
I believe that may actually fall into the category of war crime, though I believe Israel actually explains rather than disputes practice. According to Israel, these people actually prevent violence when recovering militants from within a civilian population. I suppose alternatives leave them A) bombing houses with militants or B) entering houses weapons free, SWAT style, and let the bodies fall where they may. Whatever they do, we can be certain there will be loads of specially selected photographs and stories claiming war crimes used as propaganda tools after any response to a military action by Hamas.

So how do you address the war crimes charged by the Goldstone Report against the people of Gaza? According to your link, the UN Human Rights Council investigation found the people of gaza and Hamas to be war criminals!
