The reason behind Mitzvahs? Isn't that so all those event planners, caterers, and florists can stay in business.? You know it's important that the mitvah kids can pass out glow sticks, candy, and dance around to their favorite band.

Personally I feel that two people who want to commemorate their love for each other with family probably means a lot more in the long run.

Hmmm, not sure how that is opposite of what I said (or what it is you're exactly trying to say about gay marriage which is the topic). I do agree that a lot of people feel insecure without a ring on their finger...but then again, a lot of people feel insecure in their relationships period.

You either have a happy healthy relationship or you don't.

I think government sactioned marriage should either be available for all couples, or it shouldn't be available for anyone. Gay people feel and express love just as much as straight people. If there are protections afforded through marriage for couples (in regards to money, kids, family, etc) then those should be open to all couples. It takes all kinds of folks to make the world go round.

 

I think it is disgusting and a perversion of society. But then again I am a homophobe.

Your opinion is your right but why should the law prohibit 2 people that love each other to have equal rights regardless of sexual orientation. We are talking about inheritance laws, hospital rights, insurance, etc
