So, within the last month, I've been asking various questions trying to come up with answers (mostly just random stuff). I'm a fairly good programmer. I am excellent with XHTML, CSS, JQUERY and WORDPRESS. I could use a little work with PHP, but I understand it for the most part. Now, the hardest part. How do you generate your ideas for building an online website? This really means ANYTHING. Are you doing it for the money? Is it something you enjoy, but want to make money with? Is it just something for you to pass on as free time? Are you looking at selling a service or product? I'm struggling to come up with my own ideas on starting business on the web. I have the resources and knowledge of building websites, but not the ideas, which I believe are the most important.
Hey, I have practicall no web-building/programming skills but am a total right brain thinker...I come up with a TON of ideas PM me
I come up with a ton of ideas. That is never the problem. Teasing out the profitability of those ideas, as well as the time and capital investment, expected return, and the hours to support or maintain a venture is all figured in. I work out all my ideas on the white board before I ever get to the development phase and start spending money or working out an idea in the production end. You have to factor in all of those things, ya know like an actual business plan, for online ventures just like you would the real world. Many don't. That is why they fail.
You're the guy that also does membership sites, correct? For me I just need ideas, then I can start figuring out ways to make them work/advertise/affiliates/ect or find out if their just failures all together. I'm not limiting myself to ANYTHING. I could do tube sites, I could do a wordpress site on web development, I could start an online store. I guess I just need to open my brain! edit: maybe I'm opening myself up to too many ideas/forms of websites?
Thanks friend. Appreciate the compliment. I do paid consulting work for some already. I am not cheap, but it keeps people from wasting their money. Especially when it comes to dealing with models.
Sounds like you need to narrow the field down. 1. Market or niche. 2. Type of site. 3. Type of revenue models and so on... Looking at things as a huge mess will keep you confused. You have to start sharpening the pencil so to speak.
Sounds about right. I'm looking at the over all possibliites. I'll look into a niche first THEN the type and if I like it, I will continue to build a business plan. Only hard part is still finding the kind of niche I want to be a part of.
i believe u can earn $1000+ per month if u smart enought to setup a portfolio site and being active in DP buy/sell/trade forum...
I charge too much comparted to others. I need to look into doing local business as a freelancer or some sort of online business selling something.
