Hey not trying to be cop around here, but I think domainers should be informed about the laws.

This domain breaks trademark laws for Gateway Computers and in a UDRP hearing you will lose the domain name guaranteed. Not to mention the liability you carry when you make money off a trademark that does not belong to you.

Hope I didnt put your fire out, just wanted to let you know.

I think this domain breaks no trademark laws for Gateway Computers.

The word "gateway" has several meanings - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gateway

"Gateway monitor" - can be used for a gateway monitoring service (e.g. Network Gateway Monitoring)...

    More offers welcome...

Your kidding right... I mean, there is no way Gateway Computers will let this be developed. I know that for a fact because if you read UDRP rules and requirements, you see that this domain is a perfect example of what they are trying to avoid.

Why do you think it was available to register in 2008? Because it's worthless and you can be sued for registering it.

Thanks for your opinion, but no I don't joke...

This is the same like saying that each domain with the word "gateway" can not be developed.. - just stupid...
Do you really think that if you buy a domain e.g. with the word "apple", that this breaks trademark laws of Apple Computers Inc ?? What was first apple(fruit) or apple computers ??

Please if you're not interested to buy this domain, then do not post here..Thank you for your understanding!

I believe you need to brush up on UDRP rules.

Trademark law cannot restrict free speech, and UDRP states that the domain must be used in "bad faith".

If the site was developed into something that sold computer monitors or anything related, Gateway Inc would have a case.

If it was developed into something like a service that keeps tabs on network traffic, it would be 100% legal.

An example of this would be http://www.shopthegateway.com/

If the owner of that site turned it into a site that sold computers, they would be in trouble.

As you see though, it is an actual mall in Salt Lake City, Utah. There is no way anyone could confuse that with Gateway Inc. That's why the site has been up since 2001.

With that said, I don't feel the domain is really worth anything.

Thank you, I fully understand that. But the reason I said what I said is because the buyers looking into this domain name are solely focused on the trademarked name of Gateway Computers. Not to develop it into a company un-related to the computer manufacturer.

Anyway, good luck with the sale.
