Sounds like a good idea... but hmm a hybrid is a huge investment... what about families that are just getting by though ?
A hybrid is a huge investment but with most investments also come rewards. I never recommend buying a car new anyway, the second it comes off the lot its worth 30% less. Buying a more efficient car will help too, you dont HAVE to buy a hybrid. Most trips are less than 2 miles from home, thats close enough to walk or bike.
Yeha I agree. Instead we should build more subway lines and connect maglev-lines with airports. We don't need a personal vehicle to move.
Just wait Rob, there will be some awesome things coming out that will change your mind, the good thing about the gas prices is it will force people to try other things. Hydrogen is a great energy source that is light weight and burns clean. (light until you compress and liquify.) Check this out to add to your car: http://www.savefuel.ca/
I agree 100% but again I ask , what about the american families struggling to get by where this kills them - and the nearest jobs are in the big towns far away - this is a serious problem for a huge amount of families
Gas prices here in the US aren't even bad -IMO. I also drive less than 10,000 miles a year (and my wife about 8,000). That means we're spending less than $5,000 on gas. WHAT A DEAL! So honestly, it's not an issue for me. I'm not against alternative fuel sources and conservation. It's just the the alternatives right now BLOW!
Having as many kids as I do and having to feed them (if not I go to jail-LOL) I know what you are saying. Gas prices are affecting all food prices and other necessities and I do feel the crunch. I am working at pulling out of the tight spot I am in so it won't hurt so much. BTW my big van probably only gets 10-15 mpg depending on the driving conditions. I hope to add the hydro-gen soon to help.
I am using some pills that you add to the gas - so far I see about a 20% increase in milage , but I am still skeptical of it
??huh?? I just put the pills in the tank last night with a full tank of gas. it holds 30 gallons....... I haven't researched the pills at all, but a friend gave them to me, so I will test it out.
so far the pills work engine has a little bit more power too , no alot , its like if you use higher octane .. a little faster response time
I have no proof of anything, but I find it interesting that the most powerfull people in the US government are tightly conected with the OIL industries and also the industries that support the reconstruction processes after wars. 1) There’s was oil tanker named the Condoleeza Rice as she was an executive at Chevron. Energy giant Chevron Corp. has quietly renamed renamed the tanker since she moved to political office in 2001. 2) Vice President Dick Cheney was chief executive officer of Halliburton before he became George Bush's running mate. I am far from a loon on conspiracy so I will make no conclusions, but I also dont think there are such things as coincidences. NOTE: can you give us a link on these "pills" for the gas?
They don't call me Crazy Rob for nuthin'! http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&safe=off&c2coff=1&q=acetone+fuel+additive&btnG=Search
That's 100% untrue. why don't you calculate how much of the $3.00/gallon of gasoline being spent, is going directly towards government taxes...
Some things I would be very cautious to try, the rubber compounds used in your vehicle probably couldn't handle the acetone or other harsh additives, you would end up with deteriation and particles then clogging your injection system, which would really suck to have cleaned or replaced $$$.
I had a friend who used grain alcohol in his gas. I prefer that in my orange juice though, it tends to make me 20% funnier and 18% more attractive...
U.S. Average tax per gallon of gas is 42 cents. http://www.energy.ca.gov/gasoline/statistics/gas_taxes_by_state_2002.html
I'm by no means recommending anyone do this. I've known a few people who have done it and I just thought I'd share it.
