Garbage of Web = Directories

The directories help the search engines filter the results just like Digg and other social sites do.

With all due respect Malcolm but you are totally missing the ball here. You reference yourself and other directory owners as a "human editors" and further insinuate the paid directory inclusions are a review service.

Here's what you don't seem to understand:

So basically the fact that someone submits their site to your directory by filling out the title, url, description, keyword deeplinks which then gets approved by you simply by going into the control panel of your directory script and approving all your links makes you a "human editor"? Do you have that on your resume/cv? Machines can currently do that and don't need human intervention!! What they can't do is provide a little more "comprehensive study" of the link, perhaps describing in more detail some of the features and benefits of the submitting / listed site.

You can hide behind the disguise of "human edited directory" or a "review site" , but you know what? The fact that you are a) communicating the inclusion of site links into your directory through payment under whatever disguise still makes you a "paid link publisher" and b) failure to include any sort of "editorial review" of the sites submitted further reinforces that you are not a "human editor" but a "paid link publisher". Furthermore why would you or anyone promote a "SEO Friendly" directory if it is the intent to provide review services?
