If i were to sell this forum, whtat would be a reasonable price for BIN/ BID starting?

It gets about 1500-1800 visitors per day, up for 2 years. As many as 2000+ before though. Still active daily.

I run that banner on the top for like 80 bucks a month and link advertising for $40 bucks a month on the bottom (paid advertising service does that). So $120 in revenue, though I have had as much as $160 per month.

It has 6000+ members, but the latest registered user is 17,615 user, meaning I have deleted over 9000 inactive users. I do that every few months just to keep the numbers more realistic.

It has pr3. I have done alot of subsmission to directories and engines since the last update, I am hoping for a PR 4.

I still make money monthly from this website, looking for a good price to offer it. I am not forced to sell it, though if I see a good offer I am going to take it. What would be a reasonable asking price?

you couldn't get that much for it. The script for the forum was free and you have some content on there you will not get over 1k for that

Two very different opinions so far... I thank you for them.

    Any others?

I'm basing mine strictly off of the revenue you said you were generating.
    12 x 120 = $1440
This doesn't take in to account anything else. Looking at the site, it could be better monetized fairly easily so I don't think a higher BIN is out of the question.

Is that one one normally goes by? A year worth of revenue?

I would suggest switching over to Invision Power Board, you can transfer the database so you don't lose members or posts.

After that, probably monetizing it a bit more, and it could go for $1600 IMHO.

as a rule of thumb... sort of... (I go by net vs revenue) ;)

    It's a good starting point.
A serious buyer is going to start at that amount and then start factoring in other information such as:
    Quality of Traffic
Hosting Requirements - server resources needed
Site Quality - layout and integration
    Age of site
    Authority of site

My general thought process is to take 12x monthly earnings and then factor
    Age of Site
    less than 6 months x .5
    6 months to a year x .75
    2-4 years x 1.25
    >4 years x 1.5
    Authority
    Non-Authoritative x .75
    Minor = x 1
    Major = x 1.5
    Site Quality and integration
    Needs major work x .5
    Needs minor work x 1
    No work needed x 1.25
    Quality of traffic
    bad x .5
    ok x 1
    good x 1.25

So using the above and starting at $1500 certain sites might come in at $150 (proxies come to mind) or as high as $7500. I'm a little more selective than some here on what I'll buy. For me it's worked as I've yet to be scammed by anyone on here. And have bought and sold several sites using the above rationale.
