Gaming Community Website - Idea's and Thought's.

Hey guys, ive recently just joined up (dont ask me why i havn't before lol.. )

So anyway ive just set up a hobby website called Gaming Envision, and me and my other members believe we should start marketing it as a proper website.

the problem is, even though i would love for it to become a well known website, i just dont have any idea's that would put us ahead of the crowd, and give people a reason to join up.

I have been able to get some Modders for games to come over here to make it their primary website to announce releases and upload the mod files, but thats about it.
I have got in contact with a few friends who have reviewed services and products before, so that may help somewhat.

Any idea's on how i would go about this?

Just get some inbound links and make sure the community stays active. You will grow, slowly but surely.

 

Make sure updates areon time... most important thing to catch visitors attention is fresh content..

also if you have noticed i setup some dynamic meta tags for my pages, and some seo rewrites for easier navigation.
that should help a bit right?

if you guys have any and i mean any suggestions on the website, or advertising strategies. then it would be extremely welcome ^^

 

ok a couple of my users + friends thought that adding a blog system into the site would be extremely useful and would generate a lot of hits + views. as the content will be fresh and user submitted.

i also setup a ladder/tournament system where clans can sign up, manage their clans, create challenges and matches. so should be a good system for gamers who are competitive.

i also setup a user gallery, where users can upload images, display them to the public, limit them to just their friends, etc.
