Hi.... i think i have mad a mistake by making a blog based on gaming as it is not likely to attract many visitors..... am i correct?? http:// xtremegamingquest.blogspot.com
Your mistake wasn't starting a blog about gaming, it was starting a blog about gaming on a free hosting service. A domain = $8 + hosting = $4 month + having total control over your blog = priceless
May I ask, how are you advertising this site, you don't have it in your sig. Maybe you should submit to directories, tell your friends so they can tell their friends, get some link exchange etc. Second, the first post people see is one about a cellphone, and it looks like 3 posts are about cellphones. another thing, the grammar first of all grammar like that makes people head away when they see it, don't worry tho most people type like that but make sure when its on a blog to use correct grammar as it always helps. Also, maybe you can add more posts about PC gaming, like World of warcraft, counterstrike, call of duty, etc hopefully I helped
Sure, maybe you can post on other gaming forums that are big and add the link into your signature, and make alot of posts, you could also get SEO your blog so you will get more visitors. You can advertise on some sites like adbrite.com hopefully that was helpful
k.... actually i have done a bit of SEO.... search on google for Extreme Gaming Quest. its first ya.... cud u suggest sum games forums? btw i decided to make another blog about news so it will probably attract more visitors..... http:// newsfodder.blogspot.com
nd im jus 14.. so didnt want 2 invest in a separate domain nd all...... besides blogger isnt bad.... is it?
No, blogger is fine. There are many gaming blogger blogs that get plenty of visitors. It's all about catchy titles, good long tail keywords & tags and unique content.
I'm sorry, blogger is not fine. He is creating content on a platform that he does not own or control. Buy a domain and invest on some cheap hosting, you will be glad you did.
Considering gaming online is the fastest growing online industry I think you have made an excellent choice... there are also gaming scripts you can use that build complete websites... Good Effort I say!
Make sure you have options enabled so that people can post comments anonymously, you will get more feedback and interaction that way. There are lots of gaming forums out there, try googling for specific games that you have mentioned in the blog.
First of all, you need good and interesting content. Keep researching game and console development. A good thing might be a bloglines account that you can fill with all sorts of related blogs, to see what their news is, many bloggers do this. Post frequently, make your feeds accessible. Ask yourself what you want to read on a blog. Visitors don't care about your blog if it doesn't invite them in. If you have interesting articles, social bookmarking services might give you loads of traffic to start with. Search for possible link exchanges with other related blogs. Ok, I'm just spitting out a lot of advice. What might be smart for you to do is to compile a list with all promotional activities and requirements that you can possibly come up with. Research and planning is key. Write down all the advice you are getting in this thread.
Check out the post at http://zardozz.com/zz/ regarding embedding games into your blog to keep visitors happy and returning !!!
You can advertise your site here: www.gaminglords.net in the "Spamming" section. Regards, -MoH GamingLords.net Moderator
Your best bet of getting traffic would be to post on gaming forums and link to your articles in their discussion sections. This would be extremely good for targeting the right kind of visitors. Other than that, try to make good friends on digg and stumbleupon. Although that traffic is small and not as targeted, you may see some good results.
