GamerGlitch.com was the first web site I had success with. I decided to go back and fix up the layout a bit. I'm looking for some opinions.
The layout and design isn't bad but for a gamer site it should be better. To make the site better you should do the following things. - Get a favicon. - Get a professional logo and some graphics for the header. - Add more colors into the color scheme.
I pretty much agree with the last comment. It has a nice simple layout, but check out the big gaming sites out there and you will notice they are a bit more cluttered. I personally prefer the clean design, but this site might be a little different from what gamers are used to. I also think you should change the format/graphics. Get a nice header with some video game images and a logo, and maybe spice up the design a little though. Overall, I think it's nice though. Good luck with it!
Alright, I'll do some work. Thanks for the advice. Also, I was wondering where I should place my other Google Ads, I currently only have one placed on my site.
The google ad on the right is a bit strange - lots of wasted white space. Perhaps you could make the right column thinner and put 3 or 4 google ads or even change to a three column layout.
Alright, I'll work on the logo, maybe add some effects and a character or two to it. I was also thinking I would move the navigation bar below the logo and give it some rollover effects. As far as the ad on the right, I think I will thin that column so is it fits in better. Thanks again for all the advice.
The logo is decent. Some usability comments. The navigation is in an awkward place and below the fold. moving it upwards or have a css dropdown navigation would be better. Content is ok but I a lot of it goes to external pages, opening 3tabs is not what most people want to do.
Do you really need more then one suggestion section in your forum? A general PC gaming section would be nice. You have an article about the UT 3 demo, but no mention of the free weekend on Steam? Overall, I like the design of the forum and the site. But the game titles of the forum seems narrow. I do not see an RPG or a MMORPG section, or a RTS section.
There are way to many ads. It is likely the user will leave the site. Your site won't be in their bookmarks.
your site looks too professional. Its a gaming website, add more funk to it. It will help you improve the end users experience.
It's not bad so far. Work on the top section where the links are, make them into "buttons". Add a decent looking search feature, instead of adding a list of the games at the bottom. Also, you have an AMAZING domain name. Grats.
The layout and colors are not bad. But the menu are looking simple and also you need to add a logo for your site..
Very clean, professional, easy to read looking site. Only thing I would recommend is perhaps utilizing the right side of the header to include a picture or a quote of a satisfied gameuser?
Good idea, I was thinking about using the right side of the header for something, it has been blank for a while. I might place a news marque there or something.
