NOTE TO MODS: This post has nothing to do with reviewing a website. In fact, I don't even have a website to review. This post is about the business aspect of a game server provider review website. Please read posts entirely and use common sense before moving them. Awhile ago, I set up a game server provider review website, gsreview.com. It was fairly unsuccessful, mostly due to the fact many game server providers either did not answer my emails about being included on the website or flat out refused to be on it. After thinking about the great affiliate opportunities, I want to relaunch the website. I know a lot more about managing websites than I did in the past. The only problem I have is whether or not the website will have enough demand. Do you think the website is a good idea? What things would you like to see on the website?
Why would someone want to go to your website for a review of game servers when they could just go to a website specifically about the game they are playing? I think that is the question you must answer if you are to succeed.
Huh? I'm a gamer and I'm lost. Oh, you mean places where you can buy/lease a server for hosting CS games or something? I didn't think those were that popular. Are there a lot of people willing to pay for hosting for game servers? I would think most people would just host the game off their own internet connection. You wouldn't need a host unless you had 30+ simultaneous players. So maybe a clan/guild deal or something I guess... Hmmm. Interesting business concept. I bet it'd be very very tough to run a successful business as a game server provider. I think the target market would be very small.
I thought it was very clear from the title of the thread that your site is about buying/leasing game servers. I think the web site has potential if marketed correctly.
