    To my mind, promoting is to have as good ASO as possible. App Store Optimization is the process of ranking highly in the app store’s search query results. ASO marketers and mobile marketing companies consider that high rank in search results will increase downloads of your app. You should follow this steps to optimize your app for mobile app store.

    1) Find keywords that people use searching for the app similar to yours. You have to put them in your app’s title, description etc.

    2) Define the audience you’re targeting

    3) Propose your friends to download your app and then to write some reviews or rate it. Amount of downloads, reviews and ratings are things which determine position of your app in search results.

    4) You should find the right keywords and such sites, as SearchMan, ASOdesk, AppAnnie and many others will help you.

    For ASO (App Store Optimization) Relevant keywords, description, images & reviews are the most important thing. You should share your APP in Social Media Platforms so that it can be reach to more people.

    I suggest you promote it on online game sites, online forums and social media. Also, don't forget to do SEO if you have a blog/website for your game.

    Make it free first of all. If it is your first app, then you would want to gain exposure first. At least make it free for a few weeks, or else have a demo version so people can try it and see if it's good. Promotion through social media and gaming sites would be a good idea too. If you personally know any reviewers, ask them to give favorable reviews of the app (yes, that's a bit dishonest, but you do need the positive exposure especially if it's your first app).
