Hey, I'm on holiday in Japan at the moment (and will be for another week) and over the last week I've been gambling at the pachinko parlor. AND GOD ITS SO FRUSTRATING!!! : The second day I went gambling I won 400 pounds, which is around $700 (?). The day after that I went again and this time I won 800 pounds ($1500). I was so shocked at how much I'd won but very Very happy... Then I went another 3 times in a row - and obviously lost!!!! I lost a total of about 700 pounds (or more) in the last 3 days!!! Oh well - "easy come easy go" I suppose huh? In Japan gambling is in fact illegal. These pachinko parlors get around this problem by awarding their customers with "TUK" chips. These chips can then be exchanged for money at TUK shops, which are in fact owned by the pachinko parlors themselves! It's not illegal coz technically the customers aren't "gambling" but playing for the TUK chips... I don't actually know why I'm posting this - maybe it's coz I'm frustrated at the fact I lost so much money, maybe it's coz I'm drunk Anyway I'm done with my rambling now - sorry guys
Yeah I definately agree - I had actually planned to buy something worthwhile with the money but I never got around to it... Sort of - pachinko are like pinball machines. You have to get the pinball into a little slot. Once you do that the 3 wheels in the middle spin and you have something like 1/500 chance of winning the big bonus. I wasn't actually gambling on the pachinko machines but the slot machines. Here's the actual type of machine I was on
Japanese slot machines you can beat though if you know enough about the program, past data for the machine etc... We even have professional slot gamblers who make good earning via slot. Slots is a BIG thing here in Japan so each type of slot machine is thoroughly analysed by many different types of magazines. So you can learn about the machine and how to beat it in these magazines. The rest is up to you and your common sense.
Nope - the only places you'll be able to play poker here are in places owned by the "Yakuza", i.e. the Japanese mafia!!!! So I for one am not going to go looking for a place to play poker - although I do love it!!! Btw in case anyone is interested I'm gonna go do slot again tomorrow. I'm gonna take $600 and see how it goes - wish me luck!
Fun when you're winning, so frustrating when you're losing!!! I suppose it's the same with all forms of gambling
Just had my first proper game of poker. Hold em... I was the 2nd person out. Not too bad Went all in with a pair of 9s lol
Hold 'em is great isnt it?!?! 2nd person out? That is pretty good going considering the fact that it was your first game! Anyway Im off to the pachinko parlor! Hope I win!
