I can't believe the amount of gambling comericals i'm seeing on tv. Most are for online casinos like Partypoker.net i'm in Canada, so i find it a bit supprising.
in a couple of years, when bankruptcy cases skyrocket and you have tons of 20 and 30-something's addicted to gambling, remember this post
No crap! My 14 year old cousin blew through $100 on my Poker Stars account in less than one hour last month. It really is getting out of hand- IMO!
I watched my neighbor that did not even have insurance on her house go to the boats contantly. Very sad. Shannon
kinda addicting when you've learned to play the game but when it becomes serious, its not even funny at all. my cousin's one of the victims of it and we barely know him at all because he hav gone even to steal money on our house just to play
Texas Hold'em is hugely popular among teens and college kids now. I read one of the big reasons for all of the surge of the popularity among young people is due to the televised tournaments. A big gain in popularity came when that 20-something year old college kid won that huge tournament. I'm not saying gambling has never been a problem. I'm saying that it seems like there's an increase in the young.
I used to be a member of a couple of online casinos... played for a few weeks and won over 600 bucks. I'm just glad I didn't continue... I have been tempted to play again, but I don't want to get addicted. I'm sure that $600 profit would turn into a loss of several thousands
There are just too many ways to cheat. I never feel comfortable playing for anything more than a few bucks here and there. Definitely! You can't even turn on TV anymore w/o poker being on.
Well Jarts were made illegal because 1,000's of people were turned in to kebabs (satay/souvlaki). And Crotch Bat is still popular I believe. Only now, it's done with lasers!
Yeah I know. I remember growing up my dad would say here go play lawn darts. He used to also give me a lit cigarette and fireworks.
the whole World Series of Poker has been made out to be such a huge deal in the states over the last year stemming from the Celebrity Poker show. everyone i know has a group of buddies they play poker with on a regular basis, or play online.
oh wait, maybe i read the thread wrong, was he referring to strip poker? i'm game as long as some people aren't left with just their tube socks, cause that's just plain wrong
lol sawt he movie Oceans 11 on TV and every comercial was about poker. I like the movie, but the crappy comercials made me change the channel
I just don't understand the poker craze... then again, I don't find poker or other card games very interesting, mostly becuase I usually lose But it's incredible, the phenomenon it has become. And it's really annoying.
