It is because gambling is considered 'adult material' :(

It is possible to increase a site's PR by buying a link, sure. It doesn't matter what the content of your site is, though, no.

It is better if the page that is linking to you is relevant, because it has more of an effect when increasing your PR. We call this effect 'link juice'. Therefore, the more related the page linking to you the greater 'link juice' you will receive as a result!

One site with PR7, (if it is related)! But that question is heated - strictly my opinion only! :)

I have pr7 gambling links if interested .The problem with gambling links these days is too risky to use paypal and also many websites do not like to buy links on sites with gambling content. It is becoming more difficult to get high pr gambling links which is really why i started acquring high pr websites so i could devote a small amount of them spcifically to gambling.Even some of the strong 'authority' websites are only pr4 and pr5 so it is tough to get past that level.I recommend you write alot of articles weekly and submit them to article sites to build some quality related backlinks then purchase a few high pr links.
