"gallery" means porn to google... ;)

Possibly not new for you, but I found the fact quite funny. When I set up AdSense on one of my sites today, I discovered something about human nature ;) -- Google will serve adult oriented ads to the "gallery" keyword. That also told me a little about how Google serves ads for newly discovered (not yet crawled) pages.

So it's probably not only entertaining but actual useful information for some other beginners like me:

Edit: I need to mention that my site - http://www.gerhards.net - is absolutely NOT adult-oriented ;)

I don't think its Google want to deliver porn ads to your site, its advertiser who bid for the keyword "gallery"....

of course - but I find it very interesting, that gallery is associated with porn. But you are right, its probably more the advertiser than google. In any case, still a bit bizzare and shows what's on people's mind ;)

Hehe, have you read my full posting? It's no longer showing adult ads, because now it is spidered. But as there was only the keyword from the URL, there they were ;) All of this, of course, is in the article I've written...
