I'm an avid user of YouTube and I use it quite a bit and I've posted a couple vids which have got some hits and with one video that has a small amount of visitors but is pagerank 2 somehow. However on my profile page, I have pagerank 4. It seems that it is easier to get pagerank on Youtube than it is for example on normal websites. Why is this? I assume it is due to YouTube being hugely popular and any referral or any affiliation with this site increases your pagerank extensively if you do all the right things.
If you are uploading unique videos then users will link it to many websites then you will get more backlinks and it will improve your PR
Thing is I have one video out of the 6 that I have uploaded and only one of them are "decent" and that is just me going around London taking pictures. That has pagerank 2, how is it that my profile is pagerank 4?
I wasn't questioning that. I was questioning why my YouTube page is pagerank 4, when I hadn't even tried and yet I sit here pondering how hard it is to achieve this same level on normal websites.
since youtube videos can share easily, because of it gain more links that pointing to which can help to have PR..
because most people prefer to watch rather than read.. If your videos are original, good and informative most likely more people will watch it, and you can be sure that they'll hit your url..
Maybe you subscribe or comment a lot? Youtube ha a lot of interlinking going Besides that you can benefit the PR4 by placing your link. Its a dofollow
Youtube is already a site with high authority, and it's entire network receives this PR juice among it's subpages and profiles so they could easily gain PR too... besides Google runs Youtube and they know what a site should be to rank...
I think that matters a most how many visitors you are getting from the video and that can give you a huge traffic towards your site.
I was questioning why my YouTube page is pagerank 4, when I hadn't even tried and yet I sit here pondering how hard it is to achieve this same level on normal websites. coz lots of people views your video and linking back to your video page
Your YouTube Channel probably achieved it's Pagerank of 4 during the last toolbar update snapshot. We all know that the toolbar shows a pagerank of a specific time. Whenever that time was, your video may have been briefly featured long enough to get a juicy PR flow. I guess if it drops a bit during next tool bar update (whenever that may be) than that will be proof.
Thing is, it has been pagerank 4 for about a year now. I think it is because I go on YouTube a lot, as well as posting a lot of comments on there as well!
I think your video is popular and gains lots of visitors these visitors pass lots of time watching your videos hence quality is judged!
Although it has been well over a year, I just wanted to post my profile: http://www.youtube.com/user/NorthPlum It is now pagerank 5. It seems to take no effort to get pagerank on YouTube profiles. (... and yes I am utilizing the dofollow website setting) Also before anyone criticizes me, I know pagerank doesn't really matter, but I just thought it would be cool to share this. It is in-fact a very easy way of getting pagerank if you think about it. Doesn't require much effort at-all.
