Gaining More E-mail RSS Subscribers - My Trick

I have noticed that when websites have more RSS e-mail subscribers, and visitors can clearly see that (Through a FeedBurner Widget, or some other means) they are more willing to sign up because they recognize the site is very large and must be popular. This works against you if your site only has 10 or 15 subscribers, as people see you don't have many people who actually think your content is worthy of subscription so they just ignore your site.

So, I have a large collection of e-mail addresses and passwords saved in a text document and I register these e-mails as feedburner subscribers. This increases my subscribers amount, and makes visitors more likely to actually subscribe if they see a large amount on my site. So far it's worked pretty well, but does anybody else do this?

I have a total of about 260 e-mails, ranging from Gmail, Yahoo!, Live Mail, and from my own domains. It took me about 2 days, working on registering for about 5 hours a day. Gmail cuts you off after a certain limit, so you either need to use a proxy or wait until the next day :)

Or, just create a GIF image from a screenshot of the Feedburner box and type in "15437" in it, and hyperlink it to your feedburner account :D (just a little joke)
