has anyone ever noticed that their pages load slowly because of the fact that Google analytics has been implemented?

Yeah the Analytics script can slow things down on your website - usually when there are server problems with Google Analytics servers but it doesn't happen that often in my experience and the occasional lag is a small price to pay for free detailed stats for your site.
    Hope that helps.

Analytics gives a lot of data, may be that is the reason. And yes, for most of the sites on the web, we can see the status frequently going to google-analytics.com

Use this script to load Google Analytics after visitor has loaded the page completely.

I personally like to host their ga.js at my own domain. Therefore it won't take as much time to load.
