GA: Graph traffic by country

Okay, so when you go into GA you get a line graph of visits.

How can I keep that graph but display only one country?

I can sort it by language, but I'd rather do it by country. Every time I try drilling into location though it goes to the map and I can't see graphs over time, just visitors by location.

    Any ideas?

This is what you can't do with a free analytics tool..:)

This can be easily done with the Advanced Segments [beta] within Google Analytics. This will depend on whether or not this is activated in your account.

If you let me know whether or not you can see "Beta Advanced Segments" in the top right hand corner when logged into Google Analytics.

If you can I'll describe this relatively simple process to graph visitors by country.

If you select the advanced segments beta secton within Analytics and choose "Create a new advanced segment"

From "dimensions" on the left hand side, drag and drop country (or city or region etc) onto the "dimension or metric" area towards the centre of the screen.

Select the country from the drop down list and hit "Test Segment" on the right hand side. You shoul now see how many visitors match your segment.

You can now save and close this section, whenever you are viewing visitor information you can add this segment (by choosing it from advanced segments) and it will graph how many visitors have come from the county in question.
